“Lopodrido is Rechazo Social dressed in black”.

LOPODRIDO
“Rock n Roll cuts like a knife” Alan Vega- SUICIDE

“Lopodrido is Rechazo Social dressed in black”.

Conceptualized by Francisco Rosado and JuankoSuarez,-- Rechazo Social was Puerto Rico’s first Punk Rock band in 1990 with a full set of 23 original songs all in Spanish. In 1991 Rechazo was already part of a new wave of local bands that lead the way out of colonialist status quo rock, communicating in their first language and expanding the possibilities of what could be done as a rock scene. By 1993 they became LOPODRIDO and in August 1994 they recorded, full of one takes, their first studio album released in tape, Los Niños se Pudrieron-- still considered a fundamental recording within the local underground scene. In 1995 the band accidentally plays a show at ABC NO RIO and later at Punk Fest 95 Spider land Acres, Marmora, Ontario-Canada. Having appeared in many international zines and radio shows, in 1996 they release ¡ODIA LO PODRIDO!-their second studio recording. In 1998 they opened up for the Misfits in Puerto Rico. They stopped playing in 1999, and in 2003 they were remembered in a Tribute concert for LOPODRIDO by local bands. This sparked an August 2004 reunion concert featuring Francisco and Juanko, the original cofounders. The band has been active ever since, playing around the island every gig they could get, with Juanko as the only original member. RARISIMO is a collection of 35 songs- 24 of them never released, 11 of them live versions of previously released ones. These are raw recordings (analog transferred and re-mastered), which document and introduce you to part of the evolution of this genuine ROCK n ROLL band. The CD includes a 3 panel double sided full color insert with previously unreleased band photos and an introduction to the band’s history.
